DraftKings will bring its sportsbook and online casino offerings to Alberta this weekend, marking a major expansion of its Canadian footprint. The rollout includes Golden Nugget Online Gaming, giving Albertans access to two casino brands under the DraftKings umbrella.

As Alberta continues to evolve its regulated gambling framework, readers can learn more about the province’s oversight through the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC), the body responsible for licensing and compliance.

Ahead of the launch, the company will host a World Cup watch party at the Wildhorse Saloon in Calgary — part of a series of fan events held across North America. DraftKings says Alberta’s strong sports culture makes the province a natural fit for its products.

To mark the launch, DraftKings employees will volunteer with Food Banks Alberta and present a $150,000 donation, funding more than 40,000 pounds of food for distribution across the province.

Once live, eligible Albertans will have access to sports betting markets, same‑game parlays, live wagering, and a full suite of online casino games. Both the DraftKings and Golden Nugget apps will be available on iOS and Android.
