Updates gaming regulations for 2026

New AGCO rules require operators to display wagering requirements upfront and process self-exclusions within 24 hours.

Key changes for players

The most significant update requires casinos to display full wagering requirement values prominently — not buried in terms — before a player opts into any bonus offer.

  • Wagering requirements must be shown upfront on all promotional materials
  • Deposit limits must be visible from the main account screen
  • Self-exclusion requests must be processed within 24 hours
  • New restrictions on bonus advertising targeting self-excluded players

Which casinos are affected?

All AGCO-registered operators serving Ontario players are subject to the new rules. This includes all major Canadian-facing platforms that entered the province’s regulated market in 2022.
Players outside Ontario — in British Columbia, Alberta, and Quebec — are not directly affected, though similar reviews are ongoing in those provinces.
