Ontario’s regulated iGaming market posted its strongest month to date in July 2026, with total wagers reaching CAD 9.88 billion. This new high surpassed the previous record set in March and came in 31 percent higher than July 2025. The milestone marks the highest monthly handle since Ontario launched its regulated market in April 2022.
The figures were reported by iGaming Ontario (iGO), reflecting continued growth across the province’s licensed operators. Gross gaming revenue reached CAD 413.6 million, the second-highest monthly total ever recorded, trailing only December 2025.

Ontario’s 20 percent tax rate on operator revenue generated approximately CAD 83 million for the province in July. Over the first seven months of 2026, Ontario collected CAD 553 million in tax revenue from CAD 2.76 billion in non-adjusted GGR.
Monthly active player accounts approached 1.37 million, a 44 percent increase compared with July 2025 and a 3.5 percent rise from June 2026. The market featured 48 licensed operators across 83 active gaming sites.
Two new brands entered the market during the period: DAZN Bet launched on June 30, and Hard Rock Bet followed on July 22. Despite rising participation, average revenue per active account fell to CAD 303, its lowest level since February 2026.

Online casino gaming remained the dominant vertical in Ontario’s iGaming market. iCasino wagers reached a record CAD 8.78 billion, up 30 percent year-on-year and above the previous high set in May. Casino activity accounted for 89 percent of all wagering in July.
Online casino GGR also reached a new peak at CAD 330.4 million, representing 80 percent of total operator revenue for the month.
Sports betting generated CAD 992 million in wagers during July, falling slightly below the CAD 1 billion mark due to typical summer slowdown. Even with seasonal softness, wagering was still 44 percent higher than July 2025.
June’s stronger sports betting numbers were supported by early matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including Canada’s first four games. Canada exited the tournament on July 4 after a 3–0 loss to Morocco.
Sports betting GGR reached CAD 77.8 million, up 47 percent year-on-year but the lowest monthly total since March 2026. Sports wagering represented 10 percent of total handle and 19 percent of operator revenue.
